DIY Vegetable Garden:
Do you have a Raised Bed Vegetable Garden?! I love taking steps towards making my home more green and allowing my Sweet B’s to participate in seeing the process of vegetables and fruits, starting as a seed. It is so rewarding. A raised bed vegetable garden is great because they prevent soil compaction, allow for good drainage, keep pathway weeds from your garden soil, prevent erosion, provide good drainage and offer a barrier to pests, such as slugs and snails. In some regions, raise beds allow an earlier start to the planting season because when soil is above ground level, it is warmer and better drained.
DIY Laundry Room Makeover:
The one household chore I despise is the laundry, ok maybe the dishes too. My house if filled with two messy teen girls, two dirty, sweaty, little boys, a hubs who never unrolls his gym socks (gag), and then me, “Laundry-Ella”. The constant piles of clothes are never ending and rather overwhelming. I’d walk by the ugly laundry room, void of any character or color, and just shut the door in disgust. I couldn’t take it any longer! If I had to spend such a large amount of my time in the laundry room then it had to at least be beautiful! It was time for a Laundry Room Makeover!
How To Stenciled Drop Cloth Valances:
When I first started the craft room makeover, I wanted long panels to frame my windows. Unfortunately, my desk top ended up a little wider than I planned, so I knew the panels were out of the question, and I would have to settle for valances. I didn’t want to buy valances because I knew that I would not find what I wanted for the price I wanted. I had a lot of leftover drop cloth from my drop cloth pillow covers, so I decided that I would make my curtains out of that. First, I got out my drop cloth, tape measure, and notebook to create a plan.

How To Guest Room Makeover:
When a close friend asks you to help re-do their bubble-gum pink, non-descript guest room, you can’t say no. You almost feel like you need to stage a design intervention immediately. Everyone has a room like this one: a forgotten catch-all guest room/play room/ exercise room/ office. We decided that it was our duty to save the world (and Connie and Mark’s parents!) from this room so we spruced the place up a bit.
How To Decor a Desert Stand:
These things are super easy to make. I did however forget to take pictures of me making it, but I’ll tell you what all I did. Did I mention it is super cheap? I had the plates on hand, but they were from the dollar store so, $3 plus the candlesticks that I got at a thrift store was I think $2 and I had the paint on hand.

Vintage Turquoise Desk Idea:
Since I failed to snap a photo, let me just tell you what it looked like before the transformation. This circa 1960′s desk was solid and well made, all drawers glided smoothly and the top was in pristine condition, however, the finish was a problem for me. It had several chipped layers of paint, from the original grayish, green color, to orange and cream. I, myself, have an affinity for orange but I was not going to go back with that color for the entire desk.
